Organize a trip to Punta Cana is very easy, either you decide to get a travel agency or do it by yourself. I truly prefer to do it by myself because there is something special to do the research, planning the itinerary and booking the tickets.
Punta Cana is pretty small so basically you just need to get the accommodation, good Punta Cana airport transfers services and to your hotel before traveling. If you want to get some tour you can also do it in advance, otherwise some hotels offer certain activities that you can join. In Punta Cana there are all kinds of hotels with or without all-inclusive, only for adults, family resorts, with entertaining shows and more so it will depend on your budget and how you travel.
What to pack?
Punta Cana is a very warm place, with temperatures going from 28ºC to 30ºC the whole year (similar to Cancun and other Caribbean destinations), so light clothes are basic in your luggage. Swimwear is essential to enjoy the pretty crystal water beaches and comfortable shoes to do some excursions can be very useful. Do not forget your sunscreen to avoid some burns and mosquito repellent.
For the night you can find a very active life, so pack some clothes to go out and visit the different nightclubs or discotheques, some all-inclusive hotels also offer entertainment shows without going out of the installations.
What to visit in Punta Cana?
Sun and white sandy beaches are the main reasons to visit Punta Cana, but there are also many other activities that you can do during your stay. If you are staying in an all-inclusive resort, they offer options like soccer fields, casinos, spas, bars, discos and restaurants. Even some hotels organize activities within the resorts, like theme parties or activities for the little ones.
If you want to explore more of the Dominican Republic and this pretty destination, nearby Punta Cana there are some small towns that you can visit like Bavaro, Cabeza de Toro or Macao to do some kayak, scuba diving, snorkel in the colorful reefs, swim with dolphins and many other water sports.
