After a long pause in the travel and tourism industry, the Scottish government has announced an aid of 2.5 million Euro to restart the marine and tourism industry. This fund has mainly dispersed to help the marine adventure as well as tourism that is going to be administered by ‘VisitScotland’. This amount will be given as an aid to Wild Scotland and Sail Scotland to support them to restart their operations in the water.
Basically, this fund has been taken out from the package amount of 104.3 million Euros that have been announced by the government to resettle the travel and tourism business. Since the first quarter of the year 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the traveling and tourism business was completely paused. This was the worst hit by any situation in the travel and tourism industry. With Scotland not being quite having the weather of the Cyclades, it has a much shorter sailing season.
Some of the countries in this globe earn good revenue from their travel and tourism business and Scotland is one of them. Thus they have allowed this fund to restart and resume the operations of the tourism industry.
